Does anyone have a recommendation for a cell booster? The only cell service we get at our place is on top of the hill and it is just enough for text messages to work. Sometimes it is enough for a call, and rarely enough to download emails and websites (like THF). I would like to get a booster and have seen mention of them on here in the past.

What kind would be good? Does my application sound like it would help?

Thanks in advance!!

I curious on this too. Been researching here of late, and Wilson Electronics pops up a lot. But would be nice to hear some first hand experiences.

I have used this one a bit. Works good in the Oilpatch.

I have looked at some and it seems that the only ones that really work are the ones like AT and T sells for around 250$ , all the other ones seems to just be gimiks to make you spend money.

I have one that mount on top of garage and is carried by cable into the house where the signal is retransmitted. I get 1, 2 or no bars without it and 3 to 5 bars with it. I set in a hole so very little service without it. It is fairly expensive but top of the line. Since unit is in attic PM me if you want more information and I will get it.

I have a Wilson booster in my work truck. It works pretty dang good in my area. I can go from no "bars" to full, sometimes 4g on my iPhone (AT&T). Not sure on model # but it was about $300 and I know you can get them bigger and better. I can get the model # if you want me to, send me a pm cause I'll forget. Some you can put in a truck some models you can stick on a building. We use both and so far they work great.

We use the Wilson booster for small spaces (don't remember the model) at our cabin. It works well.

How does the Yagi antenna work does your device have to be plugged into it?

Yes, you need to point it towards the nearest cell tower, mine is about 30 miles away then plug in. I have my yagi attached to the top of the house, then I plug in and I'm good to go, added 3-4 bars of signal for me, also allows me to use my mobile hot spot for internet connection. Works amazing. I'm in DFW, they put a new cell tower up this year so I no longer need it, if your in the area I will sell it to you half price the thing is one year old. Pm me if interested

I tested a Wilson amp I found in a recycle bin with an inside antenna I modified to frequency. Using an REI Oscor Blue, I got 16dB gain (dBi, as I recall, though) in my vehicle.
