Well it fired up on another site so I figured why leave this one out of the fracus. I still say I don't know if it is legal or if it is not. Somebody for once please stick a sword in the heart of the discussion and post the specific law stating you can not pile your birds.

Depends on the warden.

Buddy of ours said he don't care. Haven't asked any others yet.

Keeping them separate avoids any problems.

To be determined

That is not the question I was asking so I shall clarify. SPECIFIC law!! Can anyone post a link with the written law. I am not interested in what happened to the uncle of a neighbor. Game Wardens don't write law, so it is not up to a Game Warden. I have a call into the Houston office now but if someone can post the link faster that would be good.

Gdogg just because the pot got stirred don't mean it was intentional up

I thought we came to the conclusion that there was no specific law and we would all comingle.

Anyone hunting with me this year needs to know that shenanigans will not be tolerated. All I's crossed and T's dotted. This includes commingling of birds, I have mine and you have yours.

Don't think I won't call a GW on you during a hunt!!!

Attention rickym, this is not a troll post, just a good hearted fun type of post

I say pile the birds and keep on shooting (Though I act differently) until there are fewer birds left to reach a limit than there are guys shooting.

Sure, you could say your hunting dove with 4 shot but, it's kind of a respect thing at that point. IMHO

Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."

I can just see it now...

Garrett: "Did your bird's wing just touch my bird's tail?"
Hunter2: "Maybe, I don't know, I was watching for more birds."
Garrett: "F&$% it I'm calling the game warden."

I don't comingle I just give mine to my buddies that can't shoot and keep on going !! When we clean I bet we have had 100 birds on the tail gate in a pile, some clean while I or others get to cooking, etc, though this is at the house but that's also where we hunt.....

All boils down to the decency and common sense of the game warden and their take on the "posession" limit. If one thinks about it almost every "hero" pic you see of geese and ducks constitutes "comingling" of birds plus all of ours get tossed into the pickup bed when we are leaving the field though the count isn't over our limits. And, if we both hit a goose is it only half each ?? At what point is it no longer "comingling" ? Same as fishing guides using one ice chest for all the clients fish, Ok, now who caught this one ?? Laws are vague and probably on purpose.

Just to be clear, would this be considered commingling?

Quote:
Transfer: A person may not transfer or give migratory game birds to another person while in the field. After leaving the field, a person must have a wildlife resource document for any migratory game bird not in the immediate possession of the person who killed them (see Daily Bag and Possession). Migratory game birds may be shipped, provided a wildlife resource document accompanies the package. See above for more information on documentation. A sample can be seen at wildlife resource document.
