Acorns started following two weeks ago when the first front came through drop my temps to 60° in the morning and they have been falling really steady this last week there are a lot smaller and not nearly as many as last year still got a lot of deer activity going to the feeders so still looking good for this weekend

I didn't see any on the trees at the lease. But I don't mind hunting ladder stands, moving ladders stands to the oaks that are dropping and killing them there so . . . It's a matter of being open to more than sitting on a feeder. Take the glass to stand and watch the area around you and you will often see deer movement and feeding patterns you can use to your advantage.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Haven't seen an acorn at the leases this year, but years they are there forget the feeders and hunt the oaks. Using ladder stands is a good way, if the oaks allow it the climbing stands are my choice.

Was practicing out of the stand over the weekend and they were falling steady. Kinda made me mad because once those deer eat those acorns, we don't see a thing. If anyone could PM me on hunting the oak flats that would be greatly appreciated. Because we have spotty oak trees. I have not been able to find a flat of oaks yet on our lease. That's where I need help knowing what to do. This is my second year bow hunting so the help is appreciated!!

Dropping in Johnson and Hood Counties, All the deer I saw last night were after dark and under live oak trees, don't think the red oaks are dropping yet, but bet they'll start about the time the live oaks stop....
