So I went out opening day today and probably saw about 20-25 bucks. This one was over on the neighbor's place shot him a text and he said I was good to shoot it. The shot was 296 yards. There were plenty of bigger bucks but this one just had too much character to pass up. I nicknamed him Boeing because he looks like an airplane.

My buddy didn't see a bear this morning but the bait had been knocked around since the night before. Pops and I are about to head out for his. He got the ranger stuck then the truck stuck trying to pull the ranger out so it's been
a busy, awful afternoon.

I wouldn't have passed up that wide sucker, either. He's got nearly as much headgear as you do. I just saw him and immediately knew I had to have him. There were two bucks he was with that were way bigger but that width just made my jaw drop.

Saw tons more bucks tonight but we couldn't connect on them. No bear for my friend. Saw a decent bull. Just something to wet y'all's whistle for those who are about to go out on elk hunts.
