A man I work with sent his Zeiss Conquest in for repair about 12 weeks ago. He has heard nothing from them and cannot get a reply by e-mail when asking about the scope. Is this normal for Zeiss? Thanks g

Yes it is. They've had one of mine for longer than that. I would call them instead of email.

About 3 yrs ago I sent in a pair if binoculars that were screwed up. I called them a couple of times while they had em and each time they answered promptly, discussed what I wanted to know and were very courteous. I had a new replacement pair of binoculars back in less than 7 or 8 weeks. They even offered a loaner pair which I didn't really need. I've had great service from Zeiss.

Zeiss repairs are very slow. Last year i bough a conquest 4.5-14x44 on closeout. I used it for a week and black flakes appeared in the scope. I was going on a hunt in a couple of weeks, so the lady at zeiss customer service sent me a brand new hd5 3-15x42 with the rapid z 600 reticle. She just swapped them out. Cant beat that service, but yes the repairs are very slow for the most part. Tell him to just give them a call. She said the repairs where running about three months then.

Very slow. I sent one in two months before last season opener, and got back a month after. I'll never by Zeiss again.

I just read on the campfire that several people said zeiss repairs are now running at a ridiculous 7-8 months, as some have scopes several months into being repaired. I though 3-4 sucked.

Most of the big companies require you to call them and get a work order number. I got by WO# and sent a pair of Steiner binos back for repair end of July one year. Sent email info and phone # with request they call me for credit card info. I called them after about 3-4 weeks and they told me this time of year a lot were on vacation to be patient but they had them. About 2 weeks later I called again and they guy told me they were repaired and sending them to me. I asked him if he needed a credit card for repairs and shipping. He said "no" and they would be shipped the next day. I got them a week later and they sent me a brand new pair.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?
