I have noticed that when shooting on 16 power at 100 yards white target with 1" red spot that when I get centered up on the scope that the crosshairs kind of disappears. What I mean by that is instead of a single line the center fill will disappear and have 2 fine lines without the center filled in. These crosshairs are pretty fine to begin with. Is this normal? Anyone else notice this? If I move to the side where the scope starts to black out the crosshairs will go back to a darker line.

Hmmm. I've got that scope and I haven't noticed anything odd. If it isn't raining too hard tomorrow I'll take it to the bench and see. Gives me a good excuse to shoot.

Have you played with parralax adjustment at 100 yards? The numbers on the knob are an approximation. Turn the knob until you get the most clarity.
If that doesn't improve things you may need to adjust the rear eye piece. Point to scope at all white paper or at the sky, and adjust until the reticle becomes clear at all magnification settings. I tend to do it at maximum magnification looking at the sky.

Btw I bought this scope because of your positive reviews on vortex scopes. Also this scope and a timney trigger made a savage axis shoot 1/2 " to 3/4 groups at 100 yds. 168 a- max over varget

I love being right!!! And I love when a shooter has everything come together for them even more. P.S. I am not 100% that the rear eye piece os adjustable. I had recent memories (two days ago) of adjusting that on my SS 5-20 HD. Hope I was right again. I'd have to go out to tje safe to look at mine. I've already had a shower and it's humid out there.

I looked at mine and it is adjustable. Tomorrow I'll shoot some test rounds I have Loaded up and adjust the eye piece.
