With my Excalibur, I use the same draw string used to [censored]. Just pull up on the cocking device, safety off, pull trigger, and slowly let it down. Easy peasy. But...

REMOVE THE ARROW BEFORE DE-COCKING.

The way it's looking at my stand this year the only way I'm going to have to uncock it is if I am suddenly sick and don't feel like skinning a deer. cheers

Academy and Bass Pro sells a decocking arrow that has a round blunt end on it that works very well---its in the crossbow section. I've also used regular bolts/arrows with field points into the dirt but ive also lost a few this way too when they go too deep. I have found the decocking arrow to work the best for me

But instead of buying a decock arrow, why not just carry a field point arrow and shoot it into your block at the end of the hunt?

This is what I do with my Excalibur. I saw a the decock arrow with a rubber tip at Walmart for like $6.85 on Monday. I also have one of these, just have not installed it.
