I have been having problems catching pigs with this trap. They will eat corn by digging the back side of the trap and letting the corn drop behind the trap and going into the trap and eating from the entrance, but they are smart enough not to go and trip the back of the trap. Any suggestions/ideas to help entice them to trip the wire? [img][/img]

I had one of those for a year and had the exact same experience. I put big rocks all around the back of the trap and they moved all the rocks.

All I ever caught was one fawn.

The trap now sits in the barn and I pop one every few weeks when I awake in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep.

Need to move trap 15-30 ft from existing spot. We had one do the same, don't know if our sent or the blood from other harvest. Moved it and started trapping them again.

It might be the wire mesh in the floor, just guessing.

I built a trap with a wire floor several years ago. I have yet to catch a hog in it.

I built one not quite two years ago without a floor, and although I haven't been able to get out and bait it regularly I have caught a few hogs in it now and then. You'll need to stake it down with T-posts really well.

I have two unwritten rules:
1.
2.
