Great looking deer. Neighbor's dog or a very mangy coyote.

Thanks.

No neighbors. I was thinking I had a mountain lion or something around. Not what I want to think about walking to a stand early in the morning.

No sweat on mountain lion. Way too thin, and definitely canine, not feline, bone structure in hind legs.

Since I've never seen one I wouldn't know. Coyote it is then. Thanks for the replies all.

Any guess to age of that deer?

Great pics. Nice to know there are some decent bucks running around East Texas!!!

The dog pictured doesn't look like a coyote at all. To me, it looks very much like an English Pointer. Long skinny tail, spotted body and just the way it's walking. If it's not a neighbor, it's a stray that's just passing through.

Buck looks middle aged. Dog. You always have neighbors in east Texas. You just haven't met them yet. Good luck this season. up

I was a bit surprised to that one on the camera as well. Ready to go sit in a stand. Cool weather this past weekend is making me run fever.

If its a dog its a good ways from home, have to be more than 5 miles to the nearest house.
