Never pass on the first day what you wouldn't pass on the last day.

Why would you consider passing if he were in range?

your standards change between the first and the last day, at least with most people they do.

my buddy just got back from Alaska, he passed on the bull he ended up taking 4 times, just because he wanted to see what was out there. ended up killing it, had a 64" spread, so it was not a slouch. his goal when he got one was to take a 60" or better so it worked out for him, although its not always that way

He's lucky it worked out that way. I've learned the hard way not to pass on day 1 what I wouldn't pass on the last.
