Well now that dove season is upon us I found this picture from turkey season that I forgot to post of my boy and his second TOM. My buddy went with us to the ranch and on the first night we set up the pop up and started calling. My son wasn't quite ready for a 20ga so I found a good load for his single shot 410. We weren't in the stand for a half hour when he started talking to us. We heard him from hundreds of yards off and he kept coming closer and closer. Finally we saw him come around a hill at 80 yards. Walked straight to us in full strut the whole time to the decoys which were less then 20 yards away. Stopped at about 27 yards and would not come closer. I asked my boy if he was ready and he nodded. I told him to let loose. The 410 dropped him where he stood. My buddy got one on the last morning less then 10 yards.
