Co-worker came in today and said she was worried because she saw a bobcat near her daughter's day care. I ask her how she knows it was a bobcat and she said "because it was bigger than a dog." Then she shows me the picture she took.... it was taken in a developing area of northwest San Antonio. Looks like a house cat to me but just a little too big. What say you?

That was my first thought also. Then looking at the height of the grass that animal does not look that big.

I'm leaning towards housecat too but that's not going to keep me from having my eyes peeled from now on at this section of the road.

The local news was reporting mountain lions out in the Dominion/Fair Oaks area for a while, that kind of died down. The cat in the picture looks big, but not that big.

There was a video of one on a back deck in the Panther Creek area a few years back but it turned out to be low grade (no spots) bobcat.

If you know the area that pic was taken, stop and measure the grass height as a reference point.

This doesn't look like a house cat to me.

Jaguarundi? Body shape, color and size seem to match. Zoom in and compare the size and shape of the ear, and the extra girth on the tail. They've got a few showing up in south texas now...

My 1st impression was House kitty too, but sure seems to have a long profile? Dkershens photo does fit the shape well, but I know squat about Jaguarundi??

hard to determine the size from the pic but seeing that its walking in the open with cars driving by makes me think housecat....I would think a Jag or mountain lion would be a bit more skiddish...

Thought of this cat also, but I think they range much farther south only at this time.

??? i'm not seeing a full legth tail on this thing. Bobcat can have a tail that is surprisingly long. Like a long docked tail, that's what i'm seeing.

Jaguirundi is a VERY VERY VERY rare deal, not a confirmed one in a LOOOOOONNNNNNGGGGG time...

The big house cat the guy was talking about is a Savanah or a Bengal(savannah is bigger but my Bengal is a hause and most people freak when they see him)

Sombody smells like fried borritos...
