So I normally bring granola bars, beef jerky, and other snacks but wanted to step it up this year. I was thinking about getting a propane hot plate to heat things up during big duck season. Does anyone reheat breakfast tacos in the duck blind? Some bacon supers from Villa Arcos in Houston sure would be nice on those cold mornings. Also up for any other ideas. Nothing like getting fat in the outdoors

I am just thinking... Small space to work with , close to tall dry grass and a propane tank with an open flame... Maybe not the best combo?

Your best bet would be to get a small cart, small riding lawn mower battery, a power inverter, and a small electric hot plate. You can even get a nice solar panel for 50.00 to keep the battery charged.

I did this on my fishing cart, and I can warm up food, run a radio, charge my wife's IPad all while sitting at the beach so she doe snot get bored and want to leave.

Get a coleman stove and then one of the folding coleman ovens you can sit on the stove. You can cook fresh breakfast real fast in a small space.

Coffee, snuff and water... rice crispy treat if needed but I usually eat before I head out in the morning

I try to avoid the field deuce, I eat afterwards.

Also got o craigslist see if you can find an alcohol stove.... for camping or a boat... You can buy HEAT at an auto store that works fantastic for fule.

Its what we use on the boat.

Nothing Like sitting in the duck blind and perking fresh coffee smelling it until ready. We sometimes cook breakfast. Set you up a small simple blind cooking kit. As stated above a Coleman stove, or sometimes we just use a small single burner on a disposable bottle. We have used the fold up oven too, for warming taquitos, or making biscuits. You can cook a great breakfast on a griddle plate on a two burner camp stove.

Burritos wrapped in foil, you can heat them using any type of portable stove. A small can of Sterno also works pretty good. You need a roll of paper towels and if you are really "gourmet" you can add cheap paper plates.

We have even used a Sterno stove, to cook a real meal, a Teflon skillet, etc., is necessary, but it gets to be work. Premade items like burritos are a lot easier to heat up.

TurkeyHunter I'm no barney. Been duck hunting since I was 5. Just because I don't wake up at 3am to walk in to my spot and crouch in reeds doesn't make me a barney.

All I require is my coffee, and I always pack my thermos full of coffee, no matter how far the hike, coffee gets packed.

I use a small burner attachment that connects to a portable propane bottle. Use a small skillet to scramble eggs and maybe some crumbled sausage. We make breakfast burritos and then nap before LST.

I go out to hunt and watch my dog work. If I were to miss a incoming duck because of trying to cook breakfast, my dog would give me the "stink eye"! I bring a thermos full of black coffee and eat breakfast when I get home. If hunting with a group, we sometimes buy breakfast on the way home.

First duck hunt I ever went on, after years of nagging from my buddies, was a boat blind hunt back in Arkansas. We got everything set up and my bud pulls out a propane grill he mounted on a seat pedestal. We had eggs, bacon, onions, sausage and toast. I've only been deer hunting a handful of times since...The camaraderie of duck hunting is what got me in to it...

its hard to fit the stove in the layout!

For sure but i have needed a heater in there a time or two.

I usually eat some beans, or chili the night before the hunt, talk about a heater!
