I hunt public land at the moment and this being my 3rd year I have finally found a good spot to hunt that not many people hunt. I have plenty of deer sign but over the last 3 years this area has shown more and more signs of hogs. My question is this. If I use sow in heat scent to try and help add bacon in the fridge, would the sow in heat smell keep the deer from comin around?
I eat everything I kill and I am to fat to be a bad hunter.

I wouldn't use it at all. I tried it one time at a stand where we had a ton of hogs coming in. The sows with pigs hauled butt as soon as they smelled it. 100 to 150lb boars didn't hang around either. As soon as they got a whiff, they took off. As far as the deer, when the hogs come in, the deer will leave, at least it's what I've observed where I hunt. So, if you put out sow in heat, it might just run your deer off too.

I'd put it out in a spot where I didn't want to hunt deer.

Hogs and deer have been at war with each other for several years now. Hogs are winning, they breed multiple times per year and they eat fawns and any and everything else a deer would eat. I wouldn't be attracting hogs if I were hunting for deer.
How come everybody I meet is a deer hunting expert?
