Anyone built one? I'm trying to decide if I should have someone do it, try myself, or just buy one from tractor supply.

I need one for two dogs, covered, with slab concrete floor. Should I make some sort of drainage on one side of the slab?

Needs to be on a slight slope. I did mine the cheap easy way, cleared a smooth spot, bolted the kennels together and set them where I wanted them, cut some chain link fence to use as rebar and start mixing and pouring concrete. The bottom pipe of the kennel panel serves as your form, I have seven this way and they are from 3 to 9 years old. Still holding up good. Put the panels so that the chainlink is on the inside so at the bottom it gets concreted in too. May not be what you are looking for but they work great for me. Oh, BTW, each 10' x 10' kennel takes about 45 bags of 80 lb Sakrete.

Definitely looks good to me and what I was looking for.
Your dogs stay outside right? Mine will only be in the kennel when we will be away from the house more than a few hours because I don't want them having free roam around the backyard (more so someone doesn't see them and take them). They are house dogs otherwise. Would you still recommend 10x10? I was thinking more like 10x12 total between the two. Would 5x6 per be too small?

5'x6' would be fine for a few hours, If I were you, I would get the 6' panels that lowes and home depot sells, get 5 plain panels and two with gates, you will have two nice 6'x6' kennels. You can get 8' corrugated metal roof for the whole thing for $100.

I built one a while back, it had 3 6x10's with water troughs. Built with 1.5" tubing and cattle panel. It also was plumbed and each pen had a water bowl on a float valve, just hook the hose up on the back and all 3 stayed full. I'll try to find some pics

Did you build it on site for someone or is it yours? Sounds awesome.

Built it in the shop and he installed it on a slab with wedge anchors.

I've forgotten the configuration of your new house. I attached mine to my garage. I'd do it the same way if I had it to do over. Get your concrete poured when they pour your driveway or/and your sidewalks. Put your drain on the front third of your kennel and the back will always be dry. Drain it to your yard for only 2 to 3 dogs.

Here is one picture of my kennel. It has chain link on the inside. You can see the drain at the bottom of the picture.

Old thread.... I know but I'm interested in seeing what you came up with on your setup.
