What choke do you run for dove? I've been running a cylinder choke, and can not get those long shots on dove, which seem to be most of my shots lately. I'm running 2 3/4", 1 oz, 7 1/2" shot. I have a modified and Imp cyl chokes to choose from. I'm leaning to the modified.

It depends... I shoot either a 20ga or 28ga so for field hunting (sunflowers) I always choke up to IC/Mod or mod/IM depending on how hard the wind is blowing.
For tank hunting where shots will be closer, I almost always go with a Cyl/IC or skt/skt.

Modified, but take the chokes/tool with you and if the shots change you can change with them.

Like others. I usually shoot IC, bit switched to LM. Should have stuck with IC as they were flying close and low. LM wasn't that bad, but it was better at shots a little farther out.

For shots under 30 yds. or so I shoot a Imp. Cyl and prefer 8's. Beyond that I have an over/under with mod/ full and prefer 7 1/2's
for those high flying birds.

Why are you shooting your top barrel first, and why is your first shot your tighter choke ?

I like ic better on doves since it will often cripple them on the ground and you can find them easier flapping their wings if no dogs.

Longer shots I would use a modified choke.
