Got 3" of rain last night and it is still a light rain now at 7 am. Planted oats and it should come up for the worms.

up That is a good rain this time of the year. Any run off? I have had about 1.5" total at my house and 1.9" on the north fence line since August 29th. Happy to get what I have gotten. I am going to wait now to plant oats till the last week of Sept. so I don't have to worry as much about army worms. I all ready had them the first week of July in the Bermuda Grass in my yard, so I don't want to take a chance just yet on oats.

Good to hear. We have had some really good down pours, but only on portions of the ranch. Our south end hasn't seen a drop, but the northwest corner has seen about 1.5".

We got 2 3/4" last evening here in Smith County...nice and steady with no runoff. It should jump start my millet patch, which had been languishing for the last 6 weeks.

A little runoff not much. It has really turned around here the last month. A couple of weeks ago we got 3", then a few days ago .75" and now this. Last Tuesday drove up to Dripping Springs to pick up a Ibex. Could not believe how bad the country looked from North of Boerne all the way up there on 281 then Hwy 290. Came back through Johnson City and Fredricksburg. Finally started greening around Fredricksburg to here. We have really been lubky here this late summer. Tanks are not full but at least have some water in them.

Need all the moisture we can get, they are forecasting a much colder winter than normal, at least here in NTX. On the news the other night, they said we can expect some severe winter storms, or that's what their computers are saying.

Over the summer going to Houston, it looked much greener around College Station South.

We had a light shower early this morning, not enough to wash the dust off the vehicles. Late last night radar looked like they had light showers all over to the north of us.
