Got this pic on a game cam after seeing strange scat on our steps down into a deep ravine/creek.

Any ideas?

Looks like a fox to me but it likely turns into in a jaguarundi or ocelot after dark since most all creatures on game cams after dark are always the most rare of all animals.

Can't tell from the pic, it could be just about anything already mentioned. Might try a little bait and see if you get a better pic.

Yeah - gonna try some bait. Lots of hogs posing for pics too. Def could be a fox.

Legs are too long for a jaguarundi. Probably a juvenile catamount.

its a fox all right

Jagaurudi has oddly short legs for its body... it is the daschund of the cat world. I'm not sure but i'm pretty sure there hasn't been a like professionally widley accepted jaguarudi sighting in Texas in the last like 50 years

though have heard convincing stories...

Interesting - the only reason I jokingly posted that as the title was that when I was at Inks Lake this summer one of the rangers there said they have 3-4 reported "mountain lion" sitings that turned out to be jagarundi based on their biologist review of pics.

Of course it was a slow day and he was entertaining my kids so who knows.

I'm holding my breath for the jagarundi vs chupacobra trail cam fight pic. Its gonna happen! popcorn

Not a jagarundi.

Blessed is he who expects nothing, for he will not be disappointed.
