I need a scope for a Ruger American in 270. The Burris is pretty cheap these days. Anybody have one?
Right now they are going for about $150 after $50 Burris rebate.

I have one and love it. for reference, I have Zeiss, trijicon, and Burris. wouldn't trade the others for burris, but i'm not going to trade it out for the others either.
You should give some serious thought to thanking your lucky stars your from Texas.

Thanks, I've never used one.

I have two FF II in 4.5-14. I like them very much. Bought the first one to see what I could get for $300, and found that I could get a nice scope. So I bought another one. Most of my scopes are Leupold, with one new Vortex.

I have two of them no problems at all except the power ring adjustment is pretty hard to rotate on both of them.

Bought one for 99 on sale for a starter scope for my son. I've been very impressed. Like already mentioned power ring is really tight.

Have had several Burris scopes, never disappointed in their performance for the price, x2 X3, for the price a nice clear field of vision. I have the BDC opticle and really like it. To me comparable to a Redfield Revolution and probably a little better than Nikon Prostaff.

I like my Burris as well, but for the money, I can see better out of a Nikon Buckmaster (Prostaff 5 now). I have 3 fullfield 2 scopes and 2 of the three have a hard time keeping a zero after the gun falls over and hits the ground. Never had a problem with Bushnell, Nikon, Leupold or Swarvo with this. I did an optic test a few weeks ago and posted it here. I did the test at the last 20 minutes of legal light. The Nikon performed best among sub $300 scopes, and it wasn't even close. I tested Nikon, Burris, Vortex and Ziess Tera.

I currently have 3 of the FF II 4.5-14x42 with the ballistic reticle and have never had an issue with them. I have them on a 308, 300 win and 7mag and have been very pleased with their overall performance.
