Looks great. What kind of seed mix are you using?

Mostly millet and depending on what type of soil, moisture and how high we can raise water level once flooded depends on which type we go with. Ponds we planted last year grew back great with re-growth. I wouldn't say as thick as when we planted it, but you can definitely tell it now has a presents.

I got quick question, sorry to hijack post, but I planted brown millet week and half ago. Caught a rain perfect. My question is do I need to flush it now due to the lack if rain and the hot weather for the next week. Or is it pretty tolerant to dryness. First time I used brown top! Thanks

My question is do I need to flush it now due to the lack if rain and the hot weather for the next week. Or is it pretty tolerant to dryness. First time I used brown top! Thanks We have always drilled our brown top in. Not sure if you drilled or broadcasted? If you drilled it in and then got a good rain(1/2 inch or better), then I would not flush. Brown top needs moisture to grow, but is more like milo and doesn't do well in standing water. Flushing and flooding while growing is mostly for Japanese which is more like rice in regards to water/moisture needs. In our experience, brown top is very tolerant and just needs a little moisture and it'll do great. By now it should be up and as long as you get little rains here and there and it continues to grow, I wouldn't flush it. If you do go weeks without rain and it stops growing and starts to change to a lighter green color, then I'd definitely look at flushing. Just be careful on the flush that you don't drown it. Hope this helps and good luck. If you want/need to discuss more, feel free to give us a shout. Cell number is in signature.

Looks good.
I enjoy this time of year on the prairie just as much as when it's season.
Is that a 490 or 495 disk/disc?

Awesome! I am so jealous! I am new to Houston area and have no where to hunt for the early teal season ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! Not much public land available for good spots around here from what I see.
Gonna be tough for me this season. I know of a good spot 3 hours north but I hate to driv enorth when south is so much better from what I hear...

We have a few openings left during the week and closing Sun(28th). If you're a single hunter, might be able to fill another group with you if they are short. Give me a shout or shoot me a text at 9792405312 and I'll see if we can't put something together.
