New to hunting this area and I am trying to figure out the rut. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Week before and week of Thanksgiving. I have been hunting this area of the state for several years. The real question is the weather, moon phase, etc.... which leads to what type of rutting activity you will see. It can be slow and drawn out or it can be really concentrated and intense. You can start rattling bucks opening weekend (first of November) thru the first of December if your B/D ratios are good. Both of my largest WT were killed via the rattle the week before Thanksgiving.

I concur with tShawnB. We are a little south of Foard and the mature bucks will have their nose to the ground beginning mid November.

What part of Foard county you hunt? I live north of crowell on the Pease river. Id go with thanksgiving give or take a few days.

Our lease is a little north west of crowell. I am planning on going the first week of November due to the moon phase. I've had really good luck every year on the full moon after Xmas.

This is our 18th year in Foard and 90% of those years the deer are on lock down and vanish for a few weeks starting Thanksgiving the rut starts beginning of November.
