The wife noticed in a recent video where biologists were using tampons to hold liquid scent to attract bears. I had to chuckle how she noticed it so quickly while I didn't have a clue.

Not sure how many come in a box, but I'm sure it's much cheaper than anything you can find in the stores that's made for deer hunting use.

It's gonna be fun when you explain using tampons at deer camp!

They even come with a string that makes them easy to tie onto small tree limbs.

Just better ask first. Otherwise, she might question why or for whom you've been taking them.

I'd bet money that it was a female biologist that came up with the idea. The problem I see is that most of them are scented.

for every stereotype there's a prototype don't be the prototype

X2, this is not new, this idea has been used for quite a few years, at least 30 or more.

Sorry to take it to this next level... but I have heard of folks using their significant others used tampons to try and attract whitetails.

I'm not kidding... My jaw dropped.

Call me a crazy, but I am willing to splurge the dollar or two it cost for the normal scent wicks over tampons. That's just me.

Buy scent free super absorbent tampons and get medicine bottles to let them marinate in with doe pee. Not a new development.

But let's be honest. How many of us would be willing to put a box of tampons on the checkout counter without a woman present?

I've been married for over 30 years. I'm not ashamed to buy anything. I had to use super Kotex one time when I had a surgery start bleeding from a small artery when changing a bandage. Ended up using almost a whole pack before the ambulance got there. My wife kept handing them to me as one would soak up... sometimes applying pressure doesn't stop bleeding.

I'm reminded how my youngest daughter would only refer to them as "feminine products" when in my presence.

that's why it's important to get the gentle glide and follow the directions.

Take this topic on a medical tangent for a bit, even if a wound dressing becomes soaked with blood you should reinforce and maintain localized pressure to the source of bleeding. Releasing pressure and removing the current dressing disrupts the clot formation and promotes continued hemorrhaging.

Now back to the topic of hanging "P-$$- plugs" from trees...carry on
