My hunting "long weekends" will be limited this year and I'll need to put in for time off work next week...just want to make sure that I'm there during peak breeding activity. Does anyone have a best estimate for peak breeding in Coke county?

Is the TPWD chart the best predictor?

Depends on your area.

My lease they are running does around first week of October and then will have another secondary rut around Thanksgiving.

In north Coke county you better be in your stand the third week of October!

We had a lease more towards the middle of Coke in the early 2000's and the landowner told us the rut would be Thanksgiving. Both years we hunted that place we saw peak rut activity the first week of November.

A hot doe can come through just about anytime though. I think it was in 2008 I had a hot doe come through around New Years and had 7 bucks right behind her. That was a eye opener!

Here is a very mature buck (he was 5 that year) nose down chasing a doe on my cam.
