The way these animals roam, I would shoot it the first time I saw it or someone else will.
Born to hunt and fish.

That's kind of what I was thinking. This is a free range ranch and it's the first buck I've seen at my feeder in 3 years.

Low Fence Free Range? If so, I'd shoot him yesterday.
High Fence: Let him go another year or two.

Good looking animal! I'd take it first chance I had.

Looks to be 3 years old to me. I don't wait that long to shoot one. Yearlings and two year old Axis is what I hunt mainly because I can still load them by myself at that age. And like was said before if they are free range you better take them when you cam because you may never see them again.

I'm going to agree with Don on this one, I don't believe hes too old at all. Good eating right there! Baker

he looks young, and i agree with the others.
if you never see them, then i would think about shooting for the meat, but if he was with a doe, i would shoot the doe instead.
on my place, he would walk for 2 more years. but we are high fenced and attempt to manage our axis bucks
Stuff my dad said in the deer blind
"I can dive deeper and come up drier" "did you do that?"
