Went to a buddy's place in Mason this weekend to look for Axis. I have never hunted them before and we had a blast. His place is only about 400 acres low fenced but it's like a zoo over there. We saw probably 50-60 Axis, about 30 Blackbuck, and no telling how many whitetails. I drove 6 hours to get there and the actual hunt lasted about 15 minutes. We were going to hike to the top of a big hill to glass for them and we ran into a group about 100 yards into the hike before we got to the top. My buddy told me he was good so I shot him. We spent the next day just walking and sweating and seeing what we could see. The head is at the taxi and the meat is at the processor.

If anyone is looking for a Blackbuck hunt I saw some really big ones on my hunt. He sells Blackbuck hunts for $1500 and you will see LOTS of them.

Wow. Awesome hunt. I have 63 acres south of Ft McKavett and my neighbors have a lot of Axis but I've seen very few. Always on the cam but never there when I am. Good job!
