I'm looking at getting a survey done in a few weeks and was quoted $365 an hour. Is this about the norm? Just seemed steep.

we used to pay $500 an hour. id say its a great price if the helicopter is a 4 seater. more important question to ask than price comparison is pilot experience.

One pilot I used told me about 10 yrs ago at that time he flew the first couple of months just to pay his rising insurance costs. They had gone up so much and add in the higher fuel costs on top of that. I think $365 was what I paid the last time I flew a helicopter survey in 2006. They used another pilot after that for several years who was charging them $350 per hour for a 2 person.

365.... depends on which bird you want, R22 about going rate little high.. R44 that would be a really good rate.
last year we got a R44 for 2.5 hours, 1437.50 or 575 an hour

How many acres is the survey? Is there a mileage charge to get to the ranch to survey?
