Any cheap DIY ideas for making a seed drag to pull behind my Polaris Ranger. I will be getting a Groundhog Max pull behind disk to till my food plots, but looking on inexpensive way to cover the seed afterward, Any DIY ideas from those of you planting?

Before I bought my tractor I used to pull chain link fence with concret blocks tied to it on the back corners

Get 5, or more old tires and wire them in a pyramid shape, works great and really smooths out the ground. Old gate, log, pipe cattle panel, among other things. I have tried allot of them over the years, tires have worked well and folks will give them to ya LOL

Railroad tie on one end of a chain link fence (end facing your ranger) works well.

I use a piece of I-beam followed (chained about 2 feet behind) by a wider piece of pipe. I had both so it is about as cheap as you can get.

The I-beam is heavy enough to knock down small clumps of grass/weeds and the pipe does a fair job smoothing out the dirt.

Cattle Panel cut to slightly larger that width of 4 whlr. 2 concrete blocks. Front turned up, back turned down......Works like a champ!

HnF, that would be my second choice as well. Used cattle panels for years, great at breaking up clods with a bit of weight. I started using tires 6 years ago after watching a fella use them, incredibly smooth finish as it floats across the ground, and can bounce off obstructions like the occasional "tree" and not bend.

We used to use both methods to build baseball fields in the middle of pastures. Cattle panels to strip the grass and get it down to good dirt, put the tires on it to help it dig through some of the roots, then the tires to smooth it. Worked great
