OP Jhunt Woodsman J Joined: Sep 2011 Posts: 224 Corsicana	Any cheap DIY ideas for making a seed drag to pull behind my Polaris Ranger. I will be getting a Groundhog Max pull behind disk to till my food plots, but looking on inexpensive way to cover the seed afterward, Any DIY ideas from those of you planting?

Old gate, log, pipe cattle panel, among other things. I have tried allot of them over the years, tires have worked well and folks will give them to ya LOL Last edited by Western; 08/26/14 07:38 PM. I had both so it is about as cheap as you can get. The I-beam is heavy enough to knock down small clumps of grass/weeds and the pipe does a fair job smoothing out the dirt. Searching the world over for the perfect Chile Relleno.

I started using tires 6 years ago after watching a fella use them, incredibly smooth finish as it floats across the ground, and can bounce off obstructions like the occasional "tree" and not bend. We used to use both methods to build baseball fields in the middle of pastures. Cattle panels to strip the grass and get it down to good dirt, put the tires on it to help it dig through some of the roots, then the tires to smooth it. Worked great
