Bought a smartscouter last month and i am very disappointed with the product, picture quality is very poor and customer service is poor also. Anybody using one they would recommend.

I use the Covert one and really like it. I just added a second one. The pictures you get in email are not high quality because they have to be small enough to send from the camera. They are plenty good enough to see what's there though.

Here's an example of one that was sent to me. Kind of grainy but not bad for a picture that was emailed from the camera.

I use 2 Covert special black ops just like above have had them out for 2 years and run a 6v solar pack in conjunction with the AA batteries and yet to have to pull the SD or turn them off. There is a 12G card and the camera will erase the oldest pic every time it takes one. Very happy with them.

I bet those suckers aren't cheap! What is the cost of subscription for emailing? Cool concept though!

I had a Smartscouter on my land in Kansas 2012-2013 season. I loved them after my terrible experience prior years with the Moultrie internet game cams. Only thing I didn't like about Smartscouter was bulky 10+ year technology, it was reliable though.

I have only been using for 2 weeks, but so far LOVE the new Bushnell internet game cam. Expensive at $500 with monthly subscription in $20-30 range, but camera is compact as their regular small game cameras, reception is great, and low data usage with low res thumbnail images. You can then pick which images you want to get higher res version of.

The picture I posted is from my 2014 camera I just got but I can't really tell a difference in the 2013 and 2014 picture quality. My 2013 is 12MP also.

You can get the camera on bowviper for about $285. I use the 1000 pics per month plan for $10 per month.

I also have my camera a good 40 feet from my feeder so that doesn't help my pictures but it's still good for me. I didn't want the camera to where the sun would hit it so I backed it off in the shade. Let me see if I can find a night picture from last night. The night range on these cameras is great.

I had the covert as well, and loved it before the coons got ahold of it.
