When do you think the Frisco neighborhoods will make the first call to the Police about shooting around their house?
I say no more than thirty minutes after legal shooting.

Why don't we have time to do things right the first time, but always have time to do things over, and over, and over?

If the calls were for trespassing instead of shooting they may actually get somewhere....

the main field is gone. they are building a neighborhood on the one at panther creek and the tollway. three years ago that place was on fire. we got sopped a few times by the police out there but they never wrote tickets. They just wanted to ensure we were safe and no one shot in the direction of the homes. I swear I limited out ten times on that field a couple years ago. last year they mowed it and no one hunted it. There are still some places to hunt but landowner permission may be sketchy.

I wouldn't worry about all that stuff, just find a crowed, pull in and start shooting. loser8

All the helicopter soccer moms worried about "bullets".......out of curiosity looked at Doveblasters.com and looks as though 1 or 2 of their fields arent sure goes this year due to possible zoning changes. Won't be long till it's all over in Frisco.

I live in frisco, and just for fun last night, I counted the dove that flew over my backyard within shooting range for 15 min. It was at about 7:30 PM. Guess how many... 156!!! I live right near the field that the news story was on last year near Preston and Main street behind the shopping center. I got in touch with the land contact, and he said there is no hunting on that land this year. What a bummer. I just was wondering if anyone else has been able to get in touch with the TRUE owners, not just the guy running their investment land. I know people hunt it every year, and if I see them out there, I will be joining, but I would still like to cover my butt in case there is any issue...

I have not had luck in that area with any other land owners, does anyone have a place to hunt within 15 min of frisco or Krum that they would be willing to share? It would only be myself, my father and my wife, but mainly I will be going solo. Experienced hunter, very safety oriented, and do not drink while I hunt. I also pick up all hulls fired. The birds are flying like crazy and I really want to get a piece of it without getting pelted at the public land in Krum. Feel free to e-mail me directly, but please, no SPAM or lease adverts. Thank you.

156 doves is not enough for 50 people. I need 156 for myself.
Frisco is asking for trouble.
Its a city now, with land worth $75000 an acre

From what I read, the public land in Krum is not public this year.

I went to the Krum land a few years ago and wasn't impressed. Way to many people.

How far do you have to be away from homes to shoot if you own the land next to someone?

Depends on the city. Frisco is 600 Ft. from homes and businesses, and 1000 ft from schools. And you aren't supposed to shoot to where the pellets will strike a home even if you are 600 ft. away.

I know the field he is talking about up by the tollway. It was really really good a few years ago. The horsepark used to be lights out too. The party probably won't last too much longer in Frisco.

I'm pretty sure there will be a big crowd over at coit and 380 this year. Complete with drink girls.

What have i been missing out on? I just moved to Plano. Was this public land or just a field that people started hunting on without permission?

Sounds like a blast and only 15 minutes up the road from me

Before Frisco got developed I think they were hunted a lot. (considering it's so close to a lot of people) Last year I think it was the homeowners were going nuts over the hunting right next door and kept calling the police. It was on the news etc. I don't know if it is the one outfitter out there or many but I think they pack them out. WW3 was how it was described last year. I've never hunted it but I sure don't mind if yall push the birds furter north to where we will be. wink

I'll be surprised if it stays much longer with how Frisco is. Either the landowner will have to sell or they will pass some law about it. Guess we will have to wait and see.

With one hunter per acre I'm sure the dove in Frisco will be blasted out of the county by day 6.

That really chaps my azz.

Therein lies the reason a lot landowners won't allow hunting, myself included. If you can't abide by the rules and law, I won't let you step foot on my property

I hunt in Frisco and Allen on some of the best dove hunting fields in North Texas. And no, you're not invited. Learn to follow the rules like the rest of us and perhaps one day a landowner will give you permission to hunt.
