Buying my son a bow for Christmas. Either mission craze or hoyt ignite. Of those I prefer the hoyt since I shoot hours and am comfortable with them. The guy at the pro shop recommended it too and it wasn't the highest price. Had him shoot both and he shoots them equally well. Craze looks more fit to his body but I'm Leary. He said they both feel good and he likes the craze. However I'm not sure he knows what he's looking at. He's only 8. Any experience with either ?

The Hoyt will be better down the road. The Craze may fit him a little better now but when he grows some the Hoyt will fit better.

thats what i was thinking. the hoyt is 28" ATA and so is the mission. they just look totally different with one being parallel and the other not being parallel limbs. I've gone from mathews to hoyt myself and really like it. the hoyt does come with a little better accessories as well. they weigh the same too so thats not an issue.

The bow will choose the boy... He needs to shoot them and see which feels right. And why limit yourself so much?

its like with wands, you gotta try them out to find a good fit, everybody knows that lol lol35

Why limit the selection to those 2.

Mission Craze
Hoyt Ignite
Diamond Infinite Edge
Bear Cruzer this one is new and just hitting the
Parker Buckshot Lightest weight

To name a few

Take him to several places and try more than one or two bows.

Checkout a PSE too, they're good bows on the cheaper end and I like how they shoot.

We've actually shot several. Narrowed it down to those two cause that's what it got narrowed to. Both by him choosing and research I've done on them. Not to mention, it's fairly difficult to shoot more than a couple brands next to each other with some shops not carrying certain ones.

Let the bow chose the boy. If one "feels" better to him go with it. At the end of the day it does not matter much. Brand name means little, in the end it is what he likes and you can live with. Kind of like Ford or Chevy.

Amen! I agree 100% after all he's the one that's going to shoot it.

Does the Hoyt have all the same changes that the Craze does? Basically all the DL changes, as well as poundage changes.

"He shoots them equally well, and he like the craze" Unless there is a big price difference, get him what he likes.

theres only a 50 dollar difference in price. the mission is the higher of the two, but accessories on the hoyt are better in the sights and quiver. i know its not a big deal, but i wanted to make sure it was right. this being his first bow and him being so young, I'm not sure he really knows what he wants or thinks he wants as far as the differences in the two

You could always replace the sights and quiver down the road?

Has he shot the infinite edge? It is a great bow. Better than the craze (IMO), more adjustment range in both length and draw weight so it will grow with him until he is out of the house and has a job to pay for his own upgrades. and it comes package deal

Bear Cruzer is new one this year that is more adjustable than the Infinite Edge though I doubt many will have it at 5lbs and 12 inch draw and a 3.6lb bow. The sights that come with it are a big step up from the ones on the Edge.

As much as I like the Edge for 50 more the Curzer is worth looking at and shooting.
