I am liking this combination, thought I am still working on mastering all the technology. I am using Ultimate Night Vision's MDVR to record and it works really well with a remote switch that you press a single button and the recorder starts up. About half way through the startup, it gives you a couple of buzzes and that means it will be recording in the next 2-3 seconds. So the unit boots directly into recording mode without having to push multiple buttons or waiting until the unit is on and then pushing the record button. It is really cool. In all, I think I have used it to record shooting 14 hogs and 4 coyotes, plus several other non-shooting vids, all since March.
I sometimes get excited, however, hear the buzz buzz and think I have waited 10 seconds and have plenty of video when I have waited barely two. So this was one of those cases and the video opens with the first shot at 75 yards.
The female yote was quartered toward me (did not recognize this at time of shot). The shot hit her in the ribs well behind her front leg, taking at least one lung, exiting further back with an exit hog about 1.25" in diameter. As you can see, she ran and I got off the second shot as she was going down for the second time, clipping her left rear thigh through the muscle with a simple through and through hole.
