I have a set of Vortex Talon HD 10x42s and am back in the market for another set of binos because I am handing these off to my wife. I am looking to possibly upgrade from them to something a little nicer. I can't swing one of the big 3 right now, but just want a really good set of binos to last a while. Any input would be much appreciated.

I am a big fan of Steiners. They have some great glass in that price range.

Thanks for the input. I looked at the razors and was just curious how they would stack up against the swaros/Leica/high end meopta? Has anyone compared any of these?

Swarovski binos are on sale until the end of next month. That coupled with the promo code from swfa could get you into the 8x30 companions for $809.

In addition to the Vortex Razors, the offerings from Pentax (DCF ED), Meopta, and Minox come immediately to mind.

the cabelas euros ( meoptas) are great. Read the reviews, you'll be hard pressed to find a bad word on them.
EVery so often cabelas has big sales on their branded merchandise.

I just recently got a pair of Cabela's Euro's and they are extremely good. I know Swaros are better, but I can't honestly tell the difference looking side by side in the field. Low light, long distance, they stand up pretty close. As I said, I know Swaros are better because everyone tells me so - but I can't tell side-by-side what makes them $2000 better.

I just took the plunge and ordered the Zeiss Conquest 10x42 HD's. Hopefully they will be good. Thanks for all of the feedback!

Have been using some of the Zeiss Terra's since they came out...picked them over the many other options in your price range... very happy with the choice...hate to even pick up my Steiners or Vortex binos anymore...and the price relative to the others versus the quality...amazing...just saying...give them a try, even if only in the store while you are shopping around...when I got mine outside I was really impressed...incidentally, I use mine daily...so, effectively, I get much time behind the glass....hope this information helps..

I have a pair of Zeiss Conquest 10x42 and absolutely love them. Extremely clear and sharp all the way to the edges and work great in low light conditions as well.

I love my Meopta 10x42 HDs 2 seasons with them.. Outstanding binos I think the glass is as good as my Swaro Z6 2.5-15 HD scope
