I shot this big slider in the neck with my .454. Those Buffalo Bore loads are hell on turtles. Made my boy go swimming so I could keep him.

I thought about it, but then I remembered that I had plenty of deer in the freezer and wasn't hurting for meat just yet. The coons got that one.

Did you actually aim where you hit? Sadly, no. I was aiming for the head and hit the neck. As for big bore revolver hunting, I'm a work in progress.

I would have just aimed for the middle of the shell. I don't think it would have mattered where you hit it.

Nice shot. Of course, you could have just hit the top of the water and let that big 454 act like shock treatment and float 10-15 up from the bottom.
