We are headed out this weekend to work the deer lease. I know it will be dang hot but Im ready to get my new 6'x 8' stand in place, prop up some ladder stands in new areas, get feeders ready, etc. It has been too long since deer season.

I understand your excitement! Been a few years though since I did this in the blazing August heat. We tend now to get all of our work done in Feb and March. Then only need to fill feeders in the summer and go predator hog hunting at night when it is at least bearable. Oh what it would be like to be young again. Best of getting everything set!

It was 107 heading to Shackelford county fri afternoon, but just as soon as I got my work done a thunderstorm rolled in and rained a gully washer for 30 min then steady for another 30 min. Cooled it down to 80 before the wind stopped, then got hot and steamy into the night. Had to give it up around 11:30pm. Hogs safe for that night.
