I've had all kinds of visitors in the yard, but this is a first: Sorry pics are not so sharp - only had iphone and had to keep a distance (these are cropped). Taste like chicken? Season, and recipe? -oo

I have had pea fowl and they will sometimes go several miles, even spend a few days from home on occasion.

A lot of people like to keep them as pets; I'm sure it's one that decided to take a morning stroll.

There used to be one on 2657 between Copperas Cove and Briggs, in Burnet County. He almost ended up a hood ornament late one evening while he was strutting in the middle of the road. Syubborn rascal didn't wanna move either.

They will sometimes wander off and take up with wild turkeys, no kidding. For the last 10 years we've been seeing one on the ranch with turkeys. He just showed up out of the blue back around 2004. He roosts with a particular flock too.
