Trying to find out information on exotics on a place in/around Pipe Creek, TX area. I believe it is along fm 16, kind of NW from the intersection of 46 & 16, a creek that runs thru the area is privilege creek.

What kind of exotics can be expected to see?

Is there a good size of huntable herds in that area?

What are the white tail deer like, are they typical hill country type?

Is there any of those high dollar game ranches in/around the area?

I am not familiar with that area, i have not been in/around it, but i have been in/around Junction, Kerrville and Guadlupe river state park area. I am guessing the pepie creek area maybe very close to these and hoping the herds of exotics and white tail are plentyful like the other areas.

Me & my buddy are considering takeing our sons here for some youth hunting and hope that there is alot of animals to see and get a chance for the sons to take some. There is nothing worse then seeing the disapointment on a childs face when you dont see any animals to get a chance at. The joy/excitement on there faces is priceless.

Any help/information would greatly be appreciated.

That area has a lot of HF exotic ranches and some have been there for 50+ yrs now. With those ranches having them they have also escaped and there are quite a few that are free range now. Range in size from a few hunderd acres to 1000's of acres. Some have a few species to more species than I can name you off the top of my head. Some are reasonably priced to some being high dollar. WT genetics can be very normal Hill Country to very strong native Hill Country genetics. There are plenty of WT on LF and HF ranches in that area. Terrain can be very rough and thick also.

If we get to take our sons, we hope they will get to see plenty of different exotics and white tails and have the chance to take something. Getting to see thier smiles and excitement is great, but some of those high dollar places are usually out of our range, we are not looking for any monster trophys, just not coming home empty handed and having 2 happy boys.

Privilege creek is closer to Bandera than Pipe creek. Who's place is it? Is it North or South of Hwy. 16? Front on Hwy. 16?

The whitetail are numerous in the area but are average hill country deer. The are lots of axis in that area as well as hogs. There is an excellent chance of seeing animals but as far as " plenty of different exotics" I doubt you will see anything other than axis, especially if it is a low fence ranch. Best of luck!

I am actually in Pipe Creek, the Privilege Creek area is up the road a bit.
We jokingly call a basket 8 pointer a Pipe Creek trophy. So much of the area is cut up into 10 acre lots, and they shoot everything that has points. So the bucks hardly ever get very big but finding a big doe is not a problem..
We shoot an axis at our place (LF) several times a year, but there are some places that have them come to feeders daily, and a lot of them.
I saw a dead blackbuck doe on HWY 16 near Privilege Creek last year, and a guy a know hit an elk on HWY 46 near Pipe Creek. Those are the only exotics other than axis that I have heard of.
As mentioned, there are a lot of HF around, don k might could hook you up.
Plenty of pigs, just drive up and down HWY 16 a few times and you'll get one with your bumper.
