Going to post a couple pics. Post your best age guesstimate and whether or not based on your age this deer would be a shooter for your lease. I have a history with this deer and know his age. Will post complete pics later.

I'll step out on a limb and say 2, since I have no reputation grin

Haha...didn't post to try and put folks on the spot. Just wanted to see how perspective changes with antlers.

This is a free range deer for the question from a PM.

I'll stick with 2, since my 1st instinct was to say "yearling" grin I am well aware you will probably come back and say you raised it and it is 14 years old, that would be how good I am at this roflmao

Caveat: I chut'em, rarely ask for "papers", unless its a lease "thang" (collie will love that line LOL)

Always more difficult to age them in the summer than in the fall. what the heck someone has to go some time with other than popcorn 5 years old now, good brisket and chest depth, not much stomach but not uncommon for this time of year.

Would that be the one you passed on last season and posted a pic of?

I would say this guy could get shot at my place, he looks middle to late aged, with knobby knees and thick chest, although depending on his rack he may get the legal pass, if you know what I am saying wink

Looking forward to seeing and hearing the whole story!

Good observations Kmon. This is one we passed on last year but not the one I posted a couple weeks ago.

Here are the complete pics with a hard horned pic from last year. This buck is 4 and will be passed on for another year or two.

Last Year 3 yr old

Yeah, as I said above, he could get shot at my place...only thing holding it back would be actually seeing the deer smile

Nice looking deer and another year or two and he will be a great looking buck. Very small chance that he would survive past this year around my place, neighbors would likely shoot him even if I wanted to wait.

One little trick on some of these summer deer that try to look younger is to look at the thickness and depth of the chest area. Compared to a young deer. I'll see if I can find a pic of him standing next to the younger deer that hits that feeder with him.
