One of my co-workers knows that I like to photograph nature. She found a Tarantula on her ranch during the 4th of July Weekend. She brought this guy back to me to photograph. I believe its a Texas Brown Tarantula. Not sure if that is the real name, just the closest thing I found with a quick search online.

Nice healthy Texas Brown. Put him in a tank and feed him some crickets each week. Make a neat pet.

Neat photos, but if my coworker would have brought that to me I'd probably dump it out look at it for a sec and then give it a good stomp with a simultaneous circular motion and grind him in a bit.

I have never seen a brown one. Used to see hundreds of black one come out on the dirt roads after a summer shower. Some were bigger than this one but they were all black? And they could jump pretty good. Thanks

Very cool pics. Well played not harming this spider. As pointed out they are gentle unless you harass them, and they eat the smaller spiders and insects that do love to crawl on you and bite. cheers

Strange but they use to give me fits seeing one! Now I see one of those and I pick them up and relocate it. the way they can crawl around on you and feel the amazing strength something that small has is neat. I try to educate people on those like snakes...they aren't all bad. I like to mess with snakes to....dad always said "there's something wrong with that boy!" cool
