Anyone have dove hunting property available or leads to property around Austin? I am new to the area and don't have anywhere close to dove hunt. I would love to lease a sunflower field or any other property that attracts dove. Any help from my fellow dove hunters will be greatly appreciated.

Anywhere on the t.u. Campus would be a fine place to hunt!

There's a few on craigslist right now pretty soon you should see a lot pop up on there around the 130 pflugerville/ hutto area. I've been thinking about trying one of those out this year

Old man Kuempel leases a lot of land around Pville and Hutto. He's prolly one of those numbers that were listed. You should know though that his returning clients get choice of the best fields. I know some cats that leased property as a group or just day leased on one of his day fields and it was pathetic. Whatever you do, make sure you have the lease/land owner meet you at a field(s) so that you can see for yourself what is what. If it is a piece of land shared with others it's gonna be a fustercluck, especially around Pville and Hutto area. I live in Falcon Pointe (near the 45/130 toll intersection) and in Pflugerville for nearly 20 years and I have watched the decline of what used to be some of the best dove, especially whitewing, shooting in the state. Sure there are a few fields that still are flight lines with a little food on them but many have succumbed to development over the years. I used to run leases out here for 10 years and it just is what it is I guess.

Thought about knocking on some doors out that way since it's on my way home from work. Thanks for the heads up
