Thoughts on this gun? Seems like a good gun for the price, my old 1100 is really on its last leg,I doubt it'll last another season. Is it worth the 700$ or should I explore other options. I know a sbe2 or xtrema would be better but I can't afford 1600 bucks on a gun

I have one and so far it has worked flawlessly. Cycles everything and it is very light to carry around. I bought the "wood" stock version for around $720 but the synthetic version runs in the mid $600.

Has anyone used one of these and compared with the A400? Obviously doubling the price means more than just using 3.5" shells...is it worth it?

3 seasons of dove and ducks under it, cleaned it maybe twice during that time, killed at least 450-500 ducks and who knows how many dove. It's time to put that one on the wall.

Guys, I purchased a used Beretta Outlander about 3 months ago. This was my first semi auto. I have shot about 500 rounds out of this gun at the range and I have never had a jam. I have shot Estates, Federal, Rios, and Winchesters. I can't wait to get some ducks and doves this year.

How does it compare to the SA-08 Weatherby?

I own a wood stock version, couldn't take it away from me if you tried. Cycles everything I have put through it, dove loads to 3" duck loads. Bought it last year on sale, out the door for 750.

I am sure you can find them cheaper with some online searching, the gun store I was in just had them on sale and I liked it so much I bought it on the spot. I actually had more money to spend, was going to buy the Browning Maxius until I picked up the Beretta. I am so happy I saved the money and chose the Outlander, it is the best shotgun in the price range IMHO.

I am going to buy a max 4 camo version when I get a place to duck hunt, right now I only go once or twice a year when I can find somewhere to go.

I too am pretty interested in picking one of these up this season and have looked at a lot of reviews. I've seen nothing but good things about how well it cycles. The only hangup I've heard of is people complaining about the paint quality on the Max-4 models. A number of owners have complained it chips pretty easily, often only after a couple times in the duck blind. I'm on the fence between a new Outlander and used 390 for ducks this year - would be interested if anyone has had both and what they suggest.

The A300 is just a redesigned 390. I think the outlander feels a little better in the hands, and they redesign (allegedly) shoots a little cleaner. I've shot my buddy's, and it is a good gun.

A300 is better design, materials and workmanship.

I have an SA-08 and it shoots fine though. Plan to upgrade to an A300 sometime. Would really rather have one.

A400 is like a luxury car and fine gun. A300 is like a regular car with standard options.

They both get you down the road though. If I was shooting tons of sporting clays or maybe just wanted a fancier shotgun the A400 would be preferred. A300 will get the job done no problem assuming you don't need 3.5" shells.

i have been looking for one but the a/c went out so did my savings for the a300 but i have been told they are amazing guns hope you get one!

1. its a berretta you cant go wrong
2. its basically a newer version of the 390 391 platform. which was on best semis of all time.

My cousin has one and he loves it and i've shot it several times and it shoots niceley. If i could only spend under 1000 on a shotgun it would be this gun

This year I'm supposed to be going on my first goose hunt. Not to hack the thread, but how many folks use 3" shells for geese?

I'm sure more experienced guys will chime in....but good 3" loads hit pretty damn hard.

I bought one earlier this year, after watching a buddy use one all last season, and needing a new semi. Put close to a thousand rounds through it now... Zero problems

3 inch shells are plenty. I killed a snow stone cold dead after a reload that was so high, we had just shot at another group and he didn't flare because he thought he was safe. HA! He was wrong.

All things considered, 3.5 inch shells just give you more pellets. As long as you put a consistent pattern on the bird, an extra 1/8-1/4 ounce of shot is not gonna make that much difference.

..TRUTH!!! Speed kills..I saw a guy 2 years ago with a over under shooting 2 and 3/4 2 shot folding geese with no problem...Speed and putting the pattern on them...So back to the topic..Is this the same gun that Bass Pro just put on sale for 599 today..??

I have had the black synthetic model for a year and a half now. Never a problem from day one. Buy the a300 and spend the rest of your money on shells.

They had a paper come out 2 weeks ago about the Fall classic...It was one of the Beretta/Benelli for 599...Thats why I asked ..Wasnt sure which one...
Nevermind I found it..It was the Stoeger A 3000.....
