unit 81 or 85 colorado?

Anyone ever hunt either one of these units for elk? Me and a buddy thinking of doing an elk hunt there and just seeing if anyone can kick any info my way. Anything would be appricated. thanks.

Yea Rifle see its mostly a private land unit.. It was pretty good on the stastistics chart but its abig unit to.

I never hunted that far East, but have seen good Elk driving through a gazzilion times. Units 741 and 74 are not bad, I have hunted behind the Purgatory ski resort (drive right through the place to get back there).
The golf course on the West side of town, has to erect a fence each year around Sept-Oct to keep the Elk out, they tear the he77 out of those "purdy" fairways LOL. Good hunting on top of the mesa just NW (unit 74) of Durango as well.
If at first you dont succeed, then skydiving is not for you..

We hunt 81. It's tough going back for a third time this year. We only bow hunt though.

Amen on Unit 741, and 74 very good place. Hunted there last year.
