I recently received a Sako 85 Finnlight in 308. I have a Leupold scope with a silver finish I would like to use on it. I can not find Sako ringmounts in stainless and am torn between ordering Optilock rings and bases or Leupold ringmounts. Not sure how significant the weight issue would be with the optilocks and I have read mixed reviews on the Leupolds. Any recommendations?

That guns really a piece of junk. You should just give it to me for $1 and I'll save you the grief of sighting that monstrosity in. nuts

Bullfrog, I might have to disagree with on the price. As "bad" as it is, she is a charm to carry around and if she shoots anywhere near as nice as my first Sako, a 579, she won't be going anywhere soon. I still have to make the ring/mounts decision.

I've had great luck with Leupold rings and bases.

The Optilocks are best with a 50mm objective. I have a Zeiss HD5 3-15x42 and it could stand to be closer to the barrel. Using the one piece Ringmount which is a fraction lower than the base and ring combo.
