Do to a teardown that my brother and I are working on, I noticed that we had a great deal of these. I got to thinking that these could be used on feeder legs to deter raccoons similar to the ones that are sold in stores. These are not what I would consider razor sharp but I sure as heck wouldn't want to climb pass these. Thoughts?

That is exactly what I though about using. But they didn't really come out cheaper. So if you don't have to pay for them, then heck ya.

With my luck, it would just give the racoons better traction to get up the pole...

I have a 5 gallon bucket full of them with probably 4/5 buckets worth I can get. I have two tripod feeders to put them on after that I have no use for them. If anyone is interested in some, let me know and I will bring more back this coming weekend. A beer donation would be much appreciated for the effort in pulling them off the 2x4s

I curled a couple of those like a bracelet and put them over the conduit that protects the wire that goes from my solar panel to the control box. It keeps the coons/squirrels from hanging on the conduit because it spins around when they grab it.
