I have a new Tikka T-3 .30-06. Hunt whitetail mainly. My deer lease is pretty wide open and I can see 400-600 yards from several areas. Plan on shooting from 100-250 yards. Probably looking at a scope bigger than 3x9. What is the best scope you can buy for under $600???

I snagged a Leupold VX-L 4.5-14x50 a couple years ago for about $600 used and love it. It has the B&C reticle.

Slightly more than you mentioned but cameralandny has a Demo zeiss HD5 3-15x42 for 699. No tax or shipping.

I know lots of people like the leupold vx-3 but I am not a fan. The glass is not as good as others and the field of view is horrible. I don't carry bino's so I use my scope a lot.

You could also go with the vortex viper HS 6-24x50 that SWFA has on clearance for $399. Its a little heavier and bulkier but a good scope for the money.

There are several other good options out there but these are the two I would chose. Good luck

Just to end the subject. I found one at cameralandny. It's a 6.5x20x50 for $599.00 out the door. Great scope if anyone is looking.
