Core-lokt 100 grain in .243 or a 55 grain Varmageddon in .243? My head tells me Varmageddon but with the higher fps I am unsure.

Heavier bullets usually have more recoil than lighter bullets.

Your head is correct. Google recoil calculator. Plug in bullet weight velocity, etc. And see for yourself.

The 2 things that contribute to recoil (ammo wise) is the weight of the bullet and the speed it's going. Reduce the bullet weight, but push it faster than the heavier counter part, and the lighter bullet should have less recoil. For example, and 270 Win pushed to max speeds with a 130 and 150 grain bullet. The 130 should have less recoil, simply due to the bullet weight. For reduced recoil loads, I always go with a light bullet, and reduce the speed, and it should cut recoil in half.
