So I seem to be having a recurring problem with my taxidermist. He is a decent guy with a lot on his plate so I have cut him serious slack. I am done with being patient and need either my mounts or my money back. I know it is my fault for letting it get to this point (2.5 years) but he has had legitimate setbacks, an accident in his shop sent him to the ER, over work etc. In good faith how do you contact a person who (1) doesn't return calls (2) doesn't return texts (3) doesn't return emails (4) has moved shops?

The amount I have paid is under $500 for the deposit so are there any legal remedies? Is there a BBB for taxidermists?

Call the local sheriffs department in the town of the shops, those mounts are still your property, the taxidermist is more or less doing contract labor for you and he lost or stole your animals the sherif can track them down and get them for theft of property

I appreciate the advice Taylor. I am a patient person and I do understand that life often craps on us, I just can't give anymore leeway. It's been way too long with any glimmer of a want to communicate. It is always, next week or some issue arose that required his immediate attention. The last time we actually spoke was back in March and he promised the two mounts would be ready by first week of April.

IF it's who I think it is, I have delt with him and while my wait was only a couple months late- he did do two ducks that I brought in at different times. I was satisfied with his work, but CS isn't his strong suit............ but then again I hear one side of the story.
I would send a text that I was going to come by to check on the progress, then follow up on it
