Kinda weird. I think if he was a trespasser and that just had that happen to him he would be in more of a hurry to get out of the area. JMO.

I don't know, he's an old guy, probably realized what happened shortly after it happened. And it seems like it got all over his glasses, etc, so I can see him not caring enough to run before regrouping.
Probably sued and won shortly thereafter, sadly.

An elderly deer hunter who was sprayed with paint while trespassing on a neighbor’s property on opening morning of the 2013 Pennsylvania deer season has had the charges stayed by the State. The charges will most likely be dropped in early August if he does not have further complaints filed against him. In another twist, the landowner who set the paint bomb was also ticketed in the incident — on charges of criminal mischief and criminal harassment for allegedly rigging up a trip wire that was attached to an explosive device that discharged a paint bomb on opening day of Pennsylvania’s 2013 gun season.
The device was an air bag!

What a bush league move by the landowner. If the article is correct and this old man had been using this road to access the same hunting property for the past 61 years without incident, then how about picking up the phone to discuss how he accesses the property. Or, better yet, go knock on the old man's door and explain the situation instead of doing this garbage. Could have been handled much better with a little courtesy IMO.

I get the trespasser issue....but you know, my pops wears glasses and if i saw him wipping paint from a 'paint bomb' off of them and also trying to wipe down his things, all after being stunned by booby trap, i'd be awfully damn upset for him. There are better ways to handle a situation like this. I understaned sticking up for my/your property and protecting it, but watching THIS, makes me sad for the man. we were all idiots sometimes, and when we did idiot sh**, we ran away from this sh** as quick as we could. He doesnt do that. He doesnt look like like someone who was willingly doing something wrong. I hated watching this and thinking about my Pops making a mistake. I'm going to keep on trying to be nice to people as best i can. and before you bash (and go ahead), picture YOUR Dad on his way to his regular hunting spot.

Yeah, or it could be an older guy that has been hunting the same place for 50 years that flat doesn't care is someone bought it, he's hunting it, by God. And he probably told the LO as much.
Lots of those around. Don't get too sentimental until you know all the facts.
That said, blasting someone with a paint bomb is just stupid, regardless of circumstance. What if a branch had landed on the airbag prior to it going off and that was blasted at him?
