If you are in the military, a police officer, firefighter, fishing/hunting guide. Yeti offers a discount on their website for their coolers. You have to register and upload your credentials to receive the discount. I just bought a 45 qt for my boat and saved close to 50 bucks on what I could have purchased one from BPS, Gander Mountain, Cabelas or any of the other outdoor dealers. Gonna buy a larger one soon for the deer camp.

Is the military discount for active duty only, or do they honor retired military and other veterans as well?

No such thing as a good deal on a YETI unless you NEED to be able to keep ice for a few days (off shore fisherman) you will never come out ahead. I've kept ice in my Coleman Xtreme for 3 days in the sun. It was $35.
Now, the benifit of the yeti type coolers is they are strong, but I can buy 10 Colemans.

Funny how successful Yeti is with all the downsides that get people try and point out here. I guess some of us just want a nice cooler that we won't have to replace every year. Then again, I think its ridiculous to spend thousands of dollars to go on a HF trophy hunt, but to each his own.

My last hunting trip 3 weeks ago, we spent over $40 on ice. That was only 3 days of hunting/camping. A guy we met up with had the biggest Yeti. He filled it with ice and left it in the sun the entire time, he still had 90% of his ice and we had maybe 40% of ours. With as much off roaring/camping/hunting/fishing as we do during the warm months, I can see where one of these might be useful. I'm not saying it would be more economical or that it would be cheaper over time, but it sure would be convenient not to always be looking for ice on the road
