I have a question about hog hunting ethics. If you were to come across a mama hog with babies, would you shoot and try to kill as many as possible or pass her up until the babies are weaned?

I ran across this last week. We came across a nice 100 pound mama with about 6 little ones. My thought is to shoot the mama, and then shot gun the rest. They will eventually come back to her I think. That is kind of the plan for this weekend. I bought corn and strawberry jello mix today to set out a tube and camera later.

That is my plan. I'll load my shotgun with some #4 buck just for the occasion.

I wouldn't find enjoyment in it, but whatever makes your pants fit tighter! I am all for hunting and do plenty of it, but when it comes to the killing in different situation I feel there is a right and wrong. Is it legal? You bet. Is it right? Obviously, you will find a difference of opinions.

I eat hog. I would love to have a few babies to smoke whole. This babies are just going to grow up to be big hogs, may as well shoot em now when they taste the best.

I can understand why some say to kill them all, I however have limited resources so the ones I see with babies I normally dont shoot. This way I know I will have some to shoot in the future.

one time i shot a sow with piglets they scattered i came back the next day and caught 5 out of 12 i got pictures but i dont know how to put them on here

The last 2 times we have shot the mama pig, we took some of the piglets. Generally, if you drop the mama pig, the piglets will hang around close by. I have tried to catch the piglets by hand twice. I had them running around below my feet the last time, and almost caught two of them. I've always wanted to catch a piglet for some reason.

We caught 2 piglets one time. Dad had the brilliant idea to try to raise them for meat. 2 days of nonstop squealing ended that dream real fast.

Those wild hogs tear up the land. the babies grow up to be the same wild hogs as their parents. Kill em all.

If I see a sow and piglets, they are going to have a bad day all around.

Kill 'em all. Those little piglets will be breeders in as little as 3 months, I've heard. Sometimes you gotta' play Barney Fife and nip it in the bud.

I harvest deer, and kill hogs. That is my answer as I find no mercy for the destructive beasts
