People come here from all over the world for one reason - the fishing! Many of our guests come here to catch the biggest fish of their lives and many of those guests book return trips the following year before they leave. If that isn’t a testament of a satisfied fisherman, then we don’t know what is.

Monster Northern Pike, Big Fat Lakers (Lake Trout) and Arctic Grayling are the prizes at Lac La Martre. You will have the opportunity to test your skills in waters not many people ever get the opportunity to fish.

Catch a 20lb Northern Pike and a 20lb Lake Trout and you become an official member of our 20-20 club. We also have a 30-30 club with new members achieving this pinnacle of fishing every year.

NO FLY-OUTS NEEDED. All the fish you catch will be from our lake, which is strictly catch and release. We ask that our guests use barbless hooks and at least 30lb test line.

Trophy Northern Pike are plentiful to say the least, and are usually caught by casting into the weeds, sometimes even sight-casting for them. Once they hit the rumble begins! You fight the fish and smile for the photos, we handle the rest!

Big Fat Trophy Lake Trout are caught casting or trolling in the crystal clear, open waters of Lac La Martre. At its deepest, the lake is 65 feet, but most of the open water is less than 30 feet deep, eliminating the need for downriggers.

Arctic Grayling fishing is a great change of pace and requires a day trip to the river on the south end of the lake.

Now let me see..... $3795 plus transport to Canada. I come up with about $4000. a person........and catch/release. No thanks! We're Texans here and we eat what we harvest.

Fair enough but most lodges in Canada that are Trophy fishing destinations are catch and release in order to stay Trophy destinations. Keep in mind in the cold water lakes the fish take much longer to grow to such sizes. As for price 3400 is an average cost for top lodges for a week long trip.

I would do this in a heartbeat if I didn't already have a trip planned for September. I've heard great things about Lac La Martre -- hope to get up there for a week of fishing for my 50th in a couple years. If you love to fish, you should do a trip like this at least once in your life. Northern Pike are an absolute blast!
